Dark Age Martial Arts is an acid western funk tale composed by Cantrips' Patrick Ryan and performed by the Dune Castle band — a rotating cast of session players acting as the label’s house band. Spaghetti-western guitar meets brooding textures across a cinematic landscape of funk, psych, and leftfield rhythm.

Tony Soprano Band is an instrumental project recorded and released via Dune Castle Records, centred around live improvisation, collaboration, and the studio as an instrument. Operating as a rotating cast of musicians, the project is shaped within the Dune Castle environment.
Downtempo 1 sits at the intersection of live band interplay and downtempo electronic music. Drawing from the language of breaks, sampling and loop-based composition, every sound on the record originates from live performance. Drums, bass, synthesizers and hardware elements were performed simultaneously, with no fixed arrangements or predetermined outcomes.

The Prayer and The Big Break are bombastic tracks that take cues from David Axelrod’s work with The Electric Prunes, blending cinematic psychedelia with jazz-funk sensibilities. Like Axelrod’s concept albums of the late ’60s, these recordings explore momentum and energy through the lens of live improvisation, presence, and groove.
